Fixed-Date Billing
Rent and utility bills are calculated automatically on a monthly date agreed by landlord and tenant.
Calculate, deliver, and collect electricity, water, and utility bills automatically - in Nepali Rupees, without the monthly paperwork.
Request a Free DemoUtility billing is the most repetitive job in property management. Every month, someone reads the electricity meter for each unit, multiplies the units consumed by the rate, adds water and sanitation charges, writes a receipt, delivers it, and then tracks who has paid. Done by hand across several units, it consumes hours and invites errors - a misread meter or a slipped decimal becomes a dispute with a tenant.
eJyalo automates the full utility billing cycle: calculation, distribution, collection, and reporting, all in Nepali Rupees (NPR). When you set up a building, you define the electricity price per unit once. Each month, on a fixed date accepted by both landlord and tenant, eJyalo calculates each unit's bill from its meter reading, generates the receipt automatically, and sends it to the tenant. Tenants receive SMS notifications about their dues and can pay via Khalti or in cash, with every payment recorded against its receipt.
The system handles the messy realities too. If a tenant overpays, the surplus goes into their eJyalo wallet and offsets next month's bill; underpaid amounts carry forward to the next receipt automatically. Late payments trigger notifications to both parties, and landlords can add penalty charges - or, with eJyalo's smart meters installed, even switch off electricity to a unit remotely in extreme cases.
eJyalo can run semi-automated, where you enter meter readings in the app, or fully automated with eJyalo smart metering devices installed by the team - giving instant readings from anywhere, alerts on abnormal electricity consumption, and leakage tracking that reveals appliances drawing power even when switched off. Reports cover electricity and water use, sanitation charges, and pending amounts per tenant. Available on iOS, Android, and web, eJyalo serves property owners across Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lalitpur, Biratnagar, and all major cities in Nepal, starting with a free plan.

eJyalo automates the full utility billing cycle - calculation, distribution, collection, and reporting - in Nepali Rupees, with Khalti payment integration. You set the electricity price per unit when you create your building (for example, NPR 14 per unit). Each month, eJyalo multiplies each unit's consumption by that rate, adds rent and other charges, and generates the receipt automatically on a fixed date. With smart meters installed, readings are collected remotely too.
No. eJyalo works semi-automated out of the box - you enter meter readings in the app and everything else is calculated and delivered automatically. For full automation, the eJyalo team can install smart metering devices that report readings instantly, alert on abnormal consumption, and allow remote electricity control.
Tenants receive their receipt in the eJyalo app along with an SMS notification. They can pay online via Khalti or in cash, which the landlord records against the receipt. Overpayments are stored in a wallet for next month, and underpaid amounts carry forward to the next receipt automatically.
There is a free starter plan for one building with up to five units and ten tenants. Paid plans start at NPR 350 per month plus VAT and include SMS and email notifications, more units, and unlimited data history, with a 20% discount on yearly subscriptions.
